Our Mission

‘Tumaini’  is Swahili for ‘hope’ and the Tumaini  fund seeks to bring hope to the widows an orphans in Kagera in North West Tanzania
it is estimated that there are over 200,000 orphans in this area alone, an area the size of Northern Ireland
Sadly this is mostly due to aids
The Tumaini Fund was started 10 years ago by Dr Susan Wilson MBE who is based in Guernsey
The Tumain Fund (Scotland)  was awarded charitable status in January 2014, we have a group of 6 trustees currently based in Aberdeen
‘Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless, maintain the rights of the poor and the oppressed’
psalm 82 v3
This is the work the Tumaini Fund are called to and we feel privileged to support our Tanzanian brothers and sisters in this by the sharing of our resources
